Most pilots are aware that a filter is used to capture and remove particles from polluted air from the outside air leading to combustion in the engine compartment. For vehicles of today, there are two different species normally used, a filter paper and K & N.

The filter paper is that a filter that is made of paper products (in most cars). K & N filter is composed of a network with a cotton filter medium coated with light oil to help makeTrapping particles of dirt. Both products work well when in context for which they were designed to be used.

The problem

The paper filters are designed to banish paper from the dirt very fast and can be connected. You should check the air filter unless you at least 10,000 miles o. If it gets dirty, just replace a new one.

K & N Filters are designed to gather dirt like a filter paper, but notquickly become clogged. If they do, simply remove, wash with soap and spread with a little water in a light oil and re-installation.
